By the way; we highly discourage renting a car in any of the big cities... especially in Istanbul ! ! !
The reason for this is because traffic is at a standstill most of the time and parking spaces are hard to come by.
As a native of Turkish myself, I have returned there many times and have experienced first-hand that driving in Istanbul is a nightmare and it can easily ruin your precious vacation. On the other hand, if you do decide to rent a car, we suggest you to hire a chauffeur or a tour guide for yourself.
